johnzy_08 replied: "I cant give you specific shoes but i can help you find what's best for you.. What kind of shoes are better for training? And for racing? For everyone at our clinics we recommend light weight shoes with thin soles. There is a certain philosophy behind this recommendation, which consists of several concepts: 1. The shoes should be light, so that their weight didn't deteriorate the feeling of the foot as a part of the leg. It means that the feeling of the foot wouldn't differ from the feeling of the whole leg, psychologically. Biomechanically it may affect the foot transfer in space and time: its speed, acceleration, and trajectory, which could all be deteriorated by heavy shoes. We can deliberately use heavy shoes for some special occasions of strength development, but not for a long time, and surely not permanently. 2. The shoes should have thin soles, with no cushioning at all. It reduces the weight, but this is not the main reason. First of all, it allows you to develop a very precise, refined feeling of interaction between the foot and the ground, while landing. Obviously, it is impossible to do this through a thick shoe sole. In a movement, when every hundredth of a second counts (the time of support in best runners is 0.15-0.20 sec.), the support time is a crucial thing for neuro-muscular coordination. When the signal for the foot to touch the ground reaches the muscles and makes them prepare for landing, it's already too late. And cushioning here is the factor which deteriorates timing and as a consequence, running technique, by increasing the time of support and due to this, loading of joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles. Second, a thick sole and cushioning increase the possibility of pronation or supination, if the runner has a tendency to it. Hence, it leads to injuries, and we'll talk about this separately. Third, in Pose Method landing occurs on the ball of the foot, not on the heel, so the thick shoe heel structure doesn't make any sense. Even more, it reduces the freedom of the heel, and ankle movement and decreases the calf muscle stretching elasticity effect."

How do i sell used but almost new clothes and shoes online? Is it worth selling used but almost new clothes and shoes online? and if so what site is recommended and how is it used? I dont understand ebay/and similar sites on how they go about this. How do they send the item to the person who bought it without giving to much personal information? and is it really worth it?

Confused08 replied: "I would suggest using craigslist its all split up into categories. its very simple to use and when you put your ad up you can chose how you want to be contacted and all hope this helps and good luck!"

mahler1987 replied: "Ebay is easy to use. Everyone that is a registered member fills out a basic profile. When you sell something and someone wins the bid, you are sent the sellers name address...etc. Is it worth it? If you have a bunch of stuff yes it is worth it. You can also join your local freecycle organization and give the stuff away."

sellit replied: "I think Its worth trying to sell clothes online. Going to store is also not a bad idea but the store owner has to decide if they want it or not. There are some online website where you can run your ads for free, such as MyClozet. You can sell, buy and swap your clothes and accessories. Its easy to use,no registration required. "

How do I find a pair of beginners ballet pointe shoes online and figure out the sizes? I have always wanted a pair of pointe ballet shoes. I have seen some online but I cannot determine my size. I would like to spend about $30. My street size is 8 1/2. Can anyone help me? What size do I get? Can anyone link me to a pair like this? 10 points for best answer!

PelMel replied: "Link below: S0105L by Bloch Bloch®'s Aspiration is built for students. This pointe shoe features a harder, more supportive box that assists the beginner. Its full shank is designed to flex at the "three-quarter" position. Ribbons not included Suggested Fitting: Order 1 1/2 to 2 sizes smaller $29.95"

sexySusieQ replied: "i would strongly advise you go into a dancewear store and get fitted for pointe shoes. there is much more to pointe shoe sizing than just length. that being said, this is the closest to $30 that i can find:=&rfx_base=http%3A//discountdance.richfx.com.edgesuite.net/catalog_discountdance/Winter2008/&rfx_catalog_base=http%3A//discountdance.richfx.com/catalog_discountdance/Winter2008/index.aspx%3F&rfx_omni=1&rfx_OmniPageName=p6-7&rfx_OmniCatalogName=Winter2008&rfx_OmniClientID=discountdance&rfx_page=6&RFX_PassBack=&rfx_catalogname=Winter2008&rfx_catalog=1& i would suggest, based on your street shoe size, going with a 10 (they are japanese, and run slightly odd), and they come in narrow, medium, wide, and extra wide (X). if you can wear regular, medium width sneakers and dress shoes, go with the wide. if you need narrow shoes, go with the medium. if you need wide shoes, go extra wide i really hope you have had proper training. if not you can really screw up your entire body. pointe is a very dangerous activity, especially if you dont have a professional shoe fitting and if you are training yourself at home... good luck."

smile_ur13 replied: "Hi! I am a Ballet Dancer my self. You are given Pointe shoes when you FEET can hold you bodys weight. If you've never done ballet before i dont think you should start out with ballet pointe shoes. They are somthing you have to work really hard for and you can really get hurt if you have them when you are not ready. but never the less i will answere your qu. Find a pair you like and they will tell you ur size"

Hallerina replied: "well your best bet is to go to a store try them on, say you'll think about it then order off line, but it sounds like your not a dancer so you definitely shouldn't wear them! so if you're not going to wear them it doesn't matter what size you buy. but I can tell you that bloch aspiration (what I wear) cost about $30 so they're in your price range. please just don't hurt yourself by wearing them without classes!http://www.discountdance.com/spframe_set.php3?q=bloch_3%252F4&utm_source=yahoo_wt&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=bloch%20aspiration&utm_campaign=RKG&utm_source=yahoo_wt&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=bloch+aspiration&ovmkt=VHVCGLKSIBH11TJM2NRVJGNGDK&cshift_ck=599192222cs500297340&WT.srch=1"

KTCM replied: "If you plan to go en pointe - you need to be fitted by a professional - and don't skimp on pointe shoes! This is very important! You don't want to screw with your feet! You need them to walk! These shoes need to be fitted properly!"

cathy a replied: "For pointe shoes, you really need to go to a dance store and be fitted for a pair. There are many different brands and someone knowledgeable with ballet and pointe will be able to fit you with the correct pair - there are none that I know of that cost about $30. Most pointe shoes will run from $65 to $125 per pair. Hope this helps. Cathy"

Anna C replied: "Do NOT order online! You never know whether the shoe is good for your feet or how it feels. If you get the wrong kind of shoe for your feet, you could seriously damage yourself. You say you're a beginner, so I would recommend going to a Capezio store or something before you order online. Good luck! :)"

Gina replied: "There is no such thing as a beginner's pointe shoe. If you've had at least 5 years of ballet training and your teacher has given you the OK, then you can go get pointe shoes. If not, you are making a STUPID decision and if you decide to get them anyway, don't come crying to Yahoo Answers when you break your ankle. Pointe shoes are taken very seriously in the real ballet world, and it will be no one's fault but your own when: 1. You can't manage to do anything in them because you've had no training and 2. You injure yourself. Not to mention the fact that pointe shoes are about $70 and toe pads (that keep it from hurting unbearably) cost about $20. Pointe also hurts like HELL. You also don't know how to sew on the ribbons, break them in, or take care of them."

kaymichelle replied: "you should NEVER buy pointe shoes online until you have been fitted for shoes in a shop a few times and you are absolutley sure of your size. After doing this and you still want to buy online, show your dance teacher when they arrive to see if he/she agrees that they are a good fit hope this helps"

How Can I Size My Foot To Buy Pointe Shoes Online Without Trying Them On? Im a first time buyer of pointe shoes and i can only do so online. How can i size my foot in order to get the right size shoe without trying numerous pairs on? I do not have a teacher or anyone to ask. Please dont just tell me to get a teacher. thanks!

Lizzie M replied: "honestly you need a teacher you can do serious and permanent damage to you ankles and feet but if you must i have to go to a store and try them on web sites usually have a sizing chart but the are inaccurate and your best bet is to buy several pairs and send all but one back if your buying it before a class starts wait to buy them and ask your teacher and just wear ballet shoes"

Broken.Shattered.Dreams replied: "First of all if you don't have a ballet teacher instructing you to go on pointe how do you know if you're ready? Just going out and buying pointe shoes because you want to wear them is not a good thing to do. Second of all, i would never recommend buying your first pair of pointe shoes online. Different styles vary on size, so no one will be able to give you a straight answer because your foot isn't the same a theirs. So, I wouldn't buy pointe shoes online for the first time, because the first time you have to actually try them on and see which one feels better. I know that I(personally) HAVE to try on different shoes each time I go to the dance store, because I can almost never stick to the same style. So, I wouldn't buy the pointe shoes online because it's your first after awhile though you'll know what styles work for you and lean towards them. (I [myself] really like contempras and suprimas)"

. replied: "How do you not have a teacher? Who's going to teach you pointe? But to answer your question, no. You cannot fit pointe shoes from online. I'm normally size shoe 8 or 8.5, and I'm a 4 in pointe shoes. It's totally different sizing, and also, some shoes look ugly or pretty on different people."

drip replied: "You can't. Each brand, each model runs differently. It just isn't your shoe size, but your arch, length of your toes, your instep, Is your heel narrow or wide, do you need a hard shank or not. I wouldn't buy any kind of dance shoe on line without already knowing what size I take in that brand and model."

Riverrunsred replied: "You should not even be attempting pointe without several years of solid ballet training in flat shoes. If you can't or won't go to a studio and train at least do your body a favor and just buy some ballet videos or books and some flat shoes to practice at home. The possibility of SERIOUS injury is very high if you just go out and buy pointe shoes."

sunshine replied: "How do you know you are ready for pointe without taking classes or anything? If you decide to go ahead and begin pointe without a teacher or any proper training, - good luck on breaking your feet. Because that's all you'll end up doing. Andie."

princess replied: "If you insist on buying them online, I would start looking at Capezio. The Capezio brand fits the majority of pointe dancers. From there I would look at online reviews of people that bought Capezio pointe shoes and see how they felt about them. Then I would take your normal shoe size and get your pointe shoe half a size smaller than you usually would. Pointe shoes must be tight fitting. Otherwise, if it is too big and dosent support your ankle, you could hurt yourself. Then I would choose the style. For instance, Capezio offers the box shank. This is what I have. If you hace a wider, squarer foot then go with the box shank. Buying shoes online is perfectly fine, just try to fit yourself to the best of your ability Good luck and hope this helps!!!!!! :)"
